The Atkinson NN508 is a high end professional French Horn made in Burbank. SOLD. This is a model from the 1980s and it does play well. It is not a beauty queen, but it is a solid playing Alexander horn. This one has had the bell flare cut. This trombone is a special one. This allows for a fully tapered "J bend" back bow connecting to the bell flare, which gives more solid slotting and better intonation. The bell is stamped 3332223CFB bell (thick stem and thin flare, it plays AMAZING), it has an Edwards axial valve (thayer) with edge bracing. No dents or major cosmetic blems. A Brassark lead pipe is included with shires threads. When many of the European trombonists moved to the United States to play in our orchestras, most brought along large bore Kruspes, just like this one. Lightly used and looks nearly new. It is in fantastic condition for nearing 100 years old. The copper bell is a seamless bell. In very good condition with some minor cosmetic blems. This horn has a Kanstul prototype bell flare (unstamped) based on the vintage 2B large throat taper, the neckpipe and tuning slide are stock King 2b Jiggs parts, the slide is a custom .500" bore with curved grip and is stamped "Kaplan" This trombone was put together by Zig Kanstul for Alan while they were developing his signature model. A gorgeous horn and ready to be broken in and played professionally for years to come. Don't let the compact fool you, this thing is a giant. It is in very good condition for it's age with hardly and wear and no major dents or previous damage. This is something special. $1500 with case. Here is a special order Edwards straight tenor trombone. Robb Stewart replaced the inner slide tubes with exact modern replicas and the slide action is great, especially for a horn of this age and with the extra weight from the TIS (tuning in slide) mechanism. Cut (screw) bell. The trombone is totally stock and has no dents, very very minor wear on the contact points and perfect inner slide tubes. Comes with the original Yamaha french style case. As a result, it was called the Burkle model. The build quality on this horn is outstanding. Made fully in Massachusetts, the Masters series took many of the most popular components from the Artists series and put together set combinations. This is a Bach 42BO, fairly recent and overall in good shape with the exception of the bell flare, which was damaged and repaired. The trubore valve is open and free with good exchange on both the open side and F side of the trombone. The bells are slightly heavier and take more sound before breaking up. We can update the linkage to a ball and socket here at the shop for $75 extra, which I would recommend. I estimate these to be from the early 1920s, wide engraved nickel bell garland. The 34 is one of the most coveted models, not only for its rarity but also for its versatility. The 229 bell taper was made famous by the Chicago Symphony trumpet section, led by Bud Herseth. This style of trombone isn't for everyone, and you need to approach it from the way Jay does: "total relaxation with lots of front and energy to get the notes to jump out of the instrument, and play it like its a small trombone" and you will be rewarded with incredible soft dynamic control, explosive core on demand and a focused sound that is like no other.
